2016–17 MacroMonitor First Peek:
Peer-to-Peer Financial Services
Awareness of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) financial services is beginning to grow. Use of P2P services is not as widespread as awareness. P2P payments (excluding MoneyGram, PayPal, Square, and Western Union) lead growth with 36 million households: 15 million households (11%) now use P2P payments, 3 million households (2%) currently use P2P lending or investing, and 2 million households (1.5%) use P2P to borrow.
Watch this mini-presentation by Larry Cohen, director of SBI's Consumer Financial Decisions group, to learn more about households using peer-to-peer financial services.
