Annual Preview/Review of Scan's Watch List of Defining Forces

The December issue of Scan™ Monthly provides a quick review of each of the defining forces on Scan's watch list and a preview speculating about how each force may continue to evolve in the coming year. The annual review also provides an opportunity to assess our existing defining-forces watch list and introduce new forces when necessary. This year we introduce Globalization and Health Care as defining forces to track on a continuing basis as we move into 2004. We are removing Speech Technologies and E-Commerce from our defining forces watch list. Speech-technology topics will see coverage in the Pervasive Computing defining force, and new e-commerce topics will see coverage under several defining-forces categories, including Wireless Technologies, Globalization, and The Attention Economy.
